Back At Home

Have had a rough week health wise and went to visit a specialist in another city. Back home now and grateful for the visit - it really helped answer a lot of questions! I have so many postcards I need to do them in two batches again.
Hope you have had a good week!

Handmade Mail Art postcard from Brisbane Australia - how cool is this?!

Little Amish girl from Pennsylvania.

Book cover postcard from Washington state.

Click on anything you wish to see closer.

I'd love for you to visit me at my art blog, A Rabbit In The Garden.

That is a pig's stomach! It would have been filled with meat, onion and potatoes and cooked. The sender from German says it tastes delicious!

An aerial view of the Arena in Verona Italy, a UNESCO site built by the Romans. It is also the city for the setting of Romeo and Juliet.

A handmade card from China, I think it's pretty nice!

The cozy looking town of Leland, Michigan.

From Washington DC

Times Square is always a busy looking place!

Another UNESCO site in Japan, A night view of the Great Torii of Itsukushima Shrine.

Five Finger lighthouse south of Juneau Alaska.

Texas card with the state flower - Bluebonnets!

Interesting Ones

Oh, sometimes I get frustrated with how slow I am at adding postcards to my blog!
But since the blog is for me to share, and even if no one visits, it's ok and I will enjoy it!

A marvelous map of Scotland, and the sender says she lives "opposite of Edinburgh, over the Firth of Fourth, in Fife"!  The Firth of Fourth is a body of water near Edinburgh.

A Mountain Altai tribesmen, a shaman, from Russia. Interesting, he reminds me of the American Indians.

Strahl Creek in Indiana, what a peaceful scene!

From Poland, left to right - Pierogis, Oscypek (smoked cheese made of salted sheep's milk), and Ogorki (pickled cucumber). Yummy!

From Germany

The uses of straw in the Ukraine.

Beautiful window lighting in a shop in Poland.

Cranes in German - they look like they are dancing!

I received a large envelope from the Ukraine, with all kinds of goodies inside! The sender sent me these two postcards, the first one is an old Ukrainian khata, the second card is 40 years old....

.... you can see the wonderful stamps she put in the envelope, plus inside was a packet of marigold flower seeds, (Chernobrystsy flowers-symbol of Ukraine) and some Ukrainian coins.....

... and an Easter magnet! Wow, how nice of her to put together such a wonderful gift!

Oh My! Too Long!

I did not mean to go this long without posting my cards!
So, now we are all caught up!!

A great stamp and postcard from Australia, of the Kookaburra, the state bird of New South Wales. Love it!

The town of Khanty-Mansiysk in Siberia Russia.

From Holland, an older illustrated card which the sender says is now "hip" in Rotterdam!

Yaquina Head Lighthouse in Oregon; its history is that it was constructed on the wrong headland!

okay, um... eww. This is a card from the WW II era in Finland. They sent these out to all citizens with directions on how to keep bedbugs out of their lives.

West Virginia card sent to me by a sweet 8 year old.

Wild Boars in Belarus.

From Taiwan, this sweet illustration of the story of The Little Prince.

State card of Minnesota, with some great old boats.

Mail Art, from a member of IUOMA.

A UNESCO site in Germany, this is the Medieval city gate of Lubeck. It looks like it's out of a fairy tail!

Les Bonbons make me "les hungry"!

Estonia Song and Dance Festival, with colorful umbrellas.

Love this old mailbox from Russia, and the color of the wall behind it!

The work of a famous artist in Taiwan, Ju Ming.

And finally, from Finland, another of the great Granny cards by Inge Look!
